The new Michelangelo is not simply a writing instrument, but an objet d’art: a convergence of sculpture, painting and architecture, brought to life through Montegrappa’s most exclusive artisanal techniques, including hand painting, a distinction typically reserved for private Atelier commissions.

Crafted on a barrel of Montegrappite, Montegrappa’s proprietary resin that recalls the timeless purity of Carrara marble, the design draws inspiration from the iconic forms of the Sistine Chapel. Mirrored reproductions of its windows adorn the cap and barrel in harmonious symmetry, crafted in sterling silver through the ancient art of lost-wax casting.

At its heart, the divine spark of Michelangelo’s genius is captured in a meticulously hand-painted miniature of The Creation of Adam.

Beneath a sculpted representation of the illuminated dome of Florence’s Galleria dell’Accademia is a micro-cast effigy of David, the embodiment of the triumph of intellect and courage over brute force.

A strictly limited edition of just 88 fountain pens (featuring an 18-karat gold nib and piston filling system) and 88 rollerballs have been produced, each individually numbered in homage to Michelangelo’s 88 years of life.
