RETURN TO THE WILD: WRITING IN THE GLOW OF AFRICA’S ‘GOLDEN HOUR’

A collaboration between a pair of intrepid explorers and Italy’s leading pen makers has created WILD: Savannah Sunset – a writing instrument that evokes the thrilling romance of a moment that wildlife photographers call ‘the golden hour’.

“A feast of colour bathes the landscape in hues of yellow, orange, red and pink. The warmth of Africa’s love is painted in the sky.” Helle Løvevild Golman and husband Uri have photographed wildlife together on more than 25 expeditions, but few experiences have endured longer than that of the continent’s plains at dusk. “In the changing light, the predators begin to stir, and magic is never far from our lenses.” It’s no wonder that photographers refer to this as ‘the golden hour’.

This is the mood they have brought to WILD: Savannah Sunset – a luxury pen created with Italian marque, Montegrappa. With its fiery streaks of colour, the new edition builds on the charms of their first foray into pen design. Last year’s WILD: Baobab used exotic shapes and textures to offer writers a sense of escape, and included mementos of Helle and Uri’s life in the wild.
