The metal fittings are in aged bronze and feature typical Greek decorations. On the central ring there is the inscription reading “Alexander the Great” and in the bronze band on the shaft there is a gilded silver plate depicting Alexander’s face. In homage to the Macedonian phalanx, the clip, also in aged bronze, is spear-shaped. On the clip there is a gilded silver shield depicting the sun, Alexander the Great's family crest.
